May 20, 2017 - The Phoenicia Beirut raises a dram* with the world. A passion for whisk(e)y has always been strong at Phoenicia Beirut Hotel, where the Middle East’s largest selection of whiskies – over 400 – is available to enjoy every day of the year. As an official venue for World Whisky Day, celebrated across the globe on Saturday May 20th, the Phoenicia Beirut took this passion to an even higher level in two special events that drew whisk(e)y lovers and connoisseurs galore.Many a glass was raised at Eau de Vie during this premier celebration of whiskies’ heritage, craftsmanship, diversity and kinship. The proceedings began with an intimate, 50-person MOVIE SCREENING of The Angel’s Share (2012), a bittersweet comedy from award-winning director Ken Loach about a group of Glaswegian friends who discover that turning to whisky might just change their lives. The film was given the perfect accompaniment of guided tastings of four ‘out of this world’ whiskies to be savored with a hand rolled cigar, along with gourmet, popcorns and canapés.The evening moved up a gear with the second event of the night, a WHISK(E)Y SHINDIG, a word used for social gatherings or large lavish parties that include dancing. 200 guests were treated to guided tastings of nine premium world whiskies and cocktails, followed by a four-course gourmet “pub grub” dinner. Live entertainment from a blues band and two DJs ensured the ambiance was lively and guests in high spirits, while the nine prizes given away on the night created high anticipation. The shindig lived up to its name with plenty of dancing well into the early hours of the morning. As guests reluctantly left for home, they raised one last dram to a legendary night of revelry.

April 12, 2017- Kempinski Summerland and Valrhona celebrated Easter at the Kempinski Hotel lobby lounge ‘Le Salon’, in the presence of Valrhona’s French chef chocolatier Guillaume Roesz as well as media guests, foodies and business partners.  Guests were treated to an interesting presentation  by Chef Roesz and the Kempinski pastry team headed by Chef Pierre Abi Haila, followed by a tasting of delicious creations prepared with the new Valrhona almond flavored chocolate such as chocolate drinks, chocolate bonbons, chocolate desserts and chocolate sorbets.

March 29, 2017 - G. Vincenti & Sons, one of the leading distributors of food and spirit brands in Lebanon, organized exclusive master class sessions guided by the brand’s International representative, Scott Dickson, to launch Glen Scotia Single Malt Whisky in Lebanon. The event took place on the 29th and 30th of March and three different sessions were held per day, each dedicated for VIPs, traders, connoisseurs, prominent media representatives, and bloggers.
