October 16, 2017- In line with world international organizations’ goals and in collaboration with Spinneys, Tawlet restaurant and international chef Hussein Hadid, ACT NGO (Active Advocacy of Communities for Tomorrow), celebrated World Food Day in their first annual awareness dinner on food wastage at Tawlet, Mar Mikhael, in the presence of representatives of Lebanese corporations from various fields, in addition to renowned public figures and media. The dinner was organized as part of the NGO’s “ACT 4 Food” activities, a project that raises awareness on the importance of reducing food wastage among all sectors and consumers, reusing and repurposing  excess  food, as well as proposing legal by-laws promoting incentives to reduce food wastage among relevant sectors.

October 13, 2017 - The Lebanese French Chamber of Commerce traces in a book the development of French-Lebanese economic relations since 1950. Under the patronage of His Excellency Bruno Foucher Ambassador of France The French Lebanese Chamber of Commerce at the invitation of its President Gaby Tamer, launched his book entitled "At the heart of Franco-Lebanese relations 1950-2017". The reception was organized at the Residence des Pins in the presence of Mohamed Choucair, President of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers of Commerce, the President of the Franco-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce (CCFL) Gaby Tamer and Minister Marwan Hamadeh representing the President of the Republic General Michel Aoun, as well as Ministers Avedis Guidanian and Michel Pharaon and deputies Mohamed Kabbani and Atif Majdalani and an audience of officials and personalities from the world of business and businessmen. Ambassador Foucher delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests and reiterated the importance of the book published by the CCFL on the initiative of its President Gaby Tamer recalling that the relationship that Lebanon and France have built for two centuries has the characteristic of being exhaustive. It is not only political or cultural. It is also economic, commercial and financial. He recalled that the amount of bilateral trade has increased by about 40% over the past ten years and that French investment in Lebanon has more than doubled while Lebanese investments in France have almost quadrupled at the same time. In turn Mohamed Choucair affirmed that the French-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce is one of the main actors and witnesses of this history and "an important cog in the cooperation between the two countries; the Lebanese and French entrepreneurs find themselves, thanks to her, perfectly in both markets, and enjoy a remarkable openness to the French-speaking countries and the Arab world ".  For his part, President Tamer expressed his heartfelt thanks to The Ambassador For its welcome, and for its patronage of the event at the Residence des Pins, this historic place of Franco-Lebanese friendship that fits perfectly to the launch of the book-testimony which traces the activity of the French-Lebanese Chamber of Commerce since 1950. "This book," he said, "is the result of two years of hard work and proof of the existence of a friendship, particularly economic, between France and Lebanon, which we are called upon to consolidate and reinforce. more ». At the end of the reception the book was offered to each of the present.

17-19 October, 2017- The Italian Cooking Masterclass is organized by the Italian Trade Agency in collaboration with Alma (International School of Italian Cuisine) and IGE (Institut de Gestion des Entreprises)-USJ (Université Saint Joseph). The Masterclass is restricted to professional chef of Italian cuisine. Italian Chef Paolo Amadori, chef Ambassador of ALMA will be presenting to the Lebanese professional chefs the new trends and tastes of the Italian cuisine in the respect of the Italian culinary tradition and the use of Italian ingredients. The masterclass will be held at IGE (Institut de Gestion des Entreprises)-USJ (Université Saint Joseph) for two days divided into four working sessions.
