JW Marriott Cairo launched the first advanced solar-powered photovoltaic (PV) Modeling softwares, the Helioscope and PVSyst, that uses solar power to convert the sun’s rays into electrical energy.

It is the first project in Egypt to use a grant made available by the United Nations Development program with support from the Industrial Modernization Center and the Ministry of Trade & Investment.

The solar cell system project aims to support the spread of the use of small solar cells installed in residential and commercial buildings, public buildings, hotels and industrial facilities, which is a catalyst for the spread of the use of small solar plants connected to the network and develop the market for the production of solar cell systems and facilitate installation. In addition to establishing technical support and advisory centers, increasing the percentage of the local manufacturing component, preparing technical cadres and supporting the emerging markets of this technology in Egypt. This implementation will assist with new employment opportunities for youth, and remove barriers to increase energy generation by small solar cells, decentralized networks.
