Events held during The Garden Show
In collaboration with The Royal Netherlands Embassy,
a centerpiece arrangement contest
for professional florists and exhibitors were
organized under the theme “A Spring
Table” on Wednesday May 19 at 5:00p.m.
Florists competed to present their most outstanding
arrangement, showing their professional skills
and “Savoir-Faire” to a wide audience,
resulting in a flower rhapsody to enchant the
senses.
This year’s participants included Fleurs
la Vie en Rose; Bouquet s.a.r.l.; Green Zone;
Fleurs Green Touch; Gardenart ; Malek flowers
; Mrs. Sana Tawil “Partir en Inde”,
Garden City and Pépinières Haddad.
Supervised by professional judges: Michel Lis,
garden advisor and worldwide TV celebrity; Martin
Van Bergen, master florist; Regina Fenianos president
of the Green Garden Group; Rabih Keyrouz, fashion
designer; and Ghassan Kitmitto of “Une Soirée
à Beyrouth” for event organizing.
The lucky winner “Le Bouquet” got
a free airline ticket to Netherlands, courtesy
of KLM.
Michel Lis made a special appearance
on the first three days of the Show, providing
tips for creating and maximizing your personal
sense of style, and solid advice and direction
on all things pertaining to gardens! Educational,
informative and entertaining, Lis’ years
in the gardening business provides the foundation
for garden-related events that appeal to men and
women alike. Lis helped visitors solve their plants
and garden woes, driveway dilemmas and gardening
frustrations. His sharp sense of style and humor
has captivated his audience.
Master classes in decoration for tables and houses
were the high point of the show given by Mr. Martin
Van Bergen. Exceptional bouquets were then displayed
to the public.
A conference on roses was given by Dr. Simon
Karam. He explained the difference between old
and modern roses.
Many conferences were also given on the
“Traditional Food products” booth.
«Thimarr el Arrd», the garden’s
fruits was the farmers’ market of the Garden
Show. Around 10 producers from many Lebanese remote
lands and villages, gathered to sell, show and
share all their «gardens’ fruits»
the market was a big success that showed the interest
of the consumer for quality food products, perpetuating
health, tradition, quality and local taste.
