HORECA is the biggest annual hospitality exhibition, which has been running for the 9th year in Riyadh, with the launch of its first edition in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia in Dammam set for March 2020.
Since inception, the annual trade fair has become an essential business meeting place for the hospitality, food service and beverage industries. The Event took place at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC), a new world-class exhibition center combining functionality, convenience and adaptability with state-of-the-art facilities and top international standards. A modern international exhibition complex consisting of four halls offering 15,000 square meters of indoor exhibition area, a conference hall, support services, a VIP reception lounge, business and press centers, as well as various F&B outlets.
For the first time in KSA, Saudi HORECA hosted The National World Pastry Cup. The event saw the candidates participating in a live preparation of an artistic showpiece made of sugar and two frozen fruit desserts, as well as a live preparation of a chocolate showpiece integrating a sculpted block of Valrhona dark chocolate adorned with 6 desserts. The gold medal winner is Mohammed Al Ahrache for his work in the chocolate and the silver medalist is Tarik Abaghous in the sugar category. Both represent Jabourih Sweets and will compete for the Kingdom in the Middle East selection in 2020 at HORECA Lebanon. The finalists in that event will go on to compete at the World Pastry Cup Lyon in 2021.
