Five percent growth in Lebanon tourism during Q1 2018

The recently released statistical report by the Ministry of Tourism in Lebanon revealed that 362,000 tourists visited the country in Q1 2018, up by five percent year on year.

The arrivals are led by tourists from Europe who grew 20 percent year on year to reach little over 128,000 visitors. They were followed by Arabs, who reached 117,500, seven percent less than last year. Tourists from America came third, with 51,300 visitors, up by 10 percent y-o-y.

The second edition of Visit Lebanon, which was concluded last week, is aiming at attracting additional tourists from various destinations around the globe. The initiative does not only focus on leisure tourism, but also on religious, medical, and business tourism.
