The Culinary Arts Commission, under the Ministry of Culture, announced during the Cultural Investment Conference at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh the official entry of Gault&Millau—one of the world’s most prestigious authorities in gastronomy and hospitality—into the Saudi market through a landmark strategic partnership.
As part of this collaboration, the iconic Yellow Guide will be launched in Saudi Arabia for the very first time. The guide sets a new benchmark for culinary excellence, supporting the growth and development of the Kingdom’s gastronomy and hospitality sectors. It aims to uncover hidden gems, spotlight regional diversity, and celebrate Saudi Arabia’s unique flavors, traditions, and innovations. The inaugural edition will focus on five key destinations: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, AlUla, and Abha.
The launch will unfold across three main pillars:
- The Printed Guide – The 350-page Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia guide will feature expert reviews of top restaurants, chef profiles, signature recipes, insights into cities and regions, and the signature toque ratings (1 to 5) covering all price ranges, making it a comprehensive reference for both local and international readers.
- The Digital Platform – A dedicated Saudi Arabia section on the global Gault&Millau website will offer an interactive digital experience with continuous updates on restaurants, reviews, practical details, and direct links—enhancing the visibility of local establishments and strengthening their connection with audiences.
- The Annual Gala – The inaugural Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia Gala Dinner will take place in January 2026, bringing together chefs, journalists, influencers, and partners. The event will showcase Saudi culinary excellence to both national and international audiences, and will honor outstanding Saudi talents through the prestigious Gault&Millau trophies and plaques.
With a legacy spanning more than 50 years, operations in over 20 countries, a network of 400 inspectors, and more than 13,600 restaurants in its global listings, Gault&Millau’s arrival in Saudi Arabia reflects a joint commitment to celebrating local talent, showcasing the diversity of the Saudi culinary scene, and providing a trusted, independent source for gastronomy enthusiasts worldwide.
Through this partnership, the Culinary Arts Commission and Gault&Millau aim to elevate Saudi Arabia’s culinary landscape, set new industry standards, and strengthen international ties that will shape the Kingdom’s gastronomic future.
