The Walt Disney Company and Miral have announced plans to develop a new Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi. The destination will be built on Yas Island, known globally for its entertainment and leisure offerings. This marks Disney’s seventh theme park resort worldwide and its first in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Miral will fully develop and build the project, while Disney will oversee creative design and operational aspects. The waterfront resort will feature immersive accommodations, themed dining, retail and unique entertainment inspired by Disney stories and Emirati culture.
His excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman at Miral, stated: “Abu Dhabi is a place where heritage meets innovation, where we preserve our past while designing the future. The collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Disney demonstrates the remarkable results of combining visionary leadership and creative excellence. What we are creating with Disney in Abu Dhabi is a whole new world of imagination.”
This partnership highlights Abu Dhabi’s efforts to attract global tourism through innovation, design, and strategic collaborations.

The hotel experience will fuse Disney’s signature hospitality with Abu Dhabi’s architectural elegance and cultural depth. Guests can expect character-themed rooms, family attractions, and immersive entertainment within a uniquely Emirati setting.
The Disney resort in Abu Dhabi is expected to open between 2028 and 2030, though an official launch date has not yet been confirmed.
