Emirates Palace welcomes Johannes Tafel

Chef Johannes Tafel

Emirates Palace is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef de Cuisine Johannes Tafel to the helm of the award-winning Sayad Restaurant, which is one of Abu Dhabi’s best seafood restaurants and the fine dining experience to match. The restaurant’s décor is reminiscent of the Arabian Gulf with its cool blue and pristine white decor.

Che Tafel’s passion for cooking and his penchant for seafood has helped him forge a strong culinary presence in some of the most distinguished seafood restaurants in Abu Dhabi and, indeed, around the world over the past two decades. Speaking of his appointment he said, “With an array of top-quality ingredients so readily available, it’s a chef’s dream to be located in Abu Dhabi. From the fabulous fresh fish and produce in the local souks to the prime local meats sourced from all around the world, it’s a pleasure to serve at the forefront of worldwide hospitality and my aim is to treat every single diner as royalty.”

Catering to the demands of diners in an ever-changing culinary landscape, Tafel describes his style as ‘constantly evolving’ and is very excited to bring his passion for the freshest ingredients and fusion methods to Sayad’s kitchen.
