Toni Bazi, Abu Dhabi Area GM at Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group – Hunter&Barrel / r&b GrillHouse, tells us how he is placing Hunter & Barrel on the region’s culinary map.

What can you tell us about your experience in the hospitality industry?

I have over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry and have held various positions, from guest services to operations management. My main responsibilities encompass overseeing operations, ensuring high customer satisfaction and managing teams to consistently deliver exceptional service levels. Additionally, I have a deep understanding of the industry and a proven track record of driving revenue and profitability.

Furthermore, I am dedicated to staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in the hospitality sector.

As general manager, what strategies have you implemented to ensure successful operations and guest satisfaction?

I believe we must always personalize the guest experience through tailored services. In order to anticipate the needs of our guests, we are focused on developing and implementing employee training programs to deliver exceptional service and create memorable experiences.

Additionally, we foster a culture of proactive problem solving to swiftly address any issues that may arise during guests’ stays. Moreover, we regularly gather feedback from guests through reviews and direct feedback.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety to prioritize the well-being of guests and staff is critical, as well as cultivating strong relationships with local suppliers to ensure high quality ingredients and products.

How do you stay ahead of the latest trends and innovations in the hospitality industry?

I read industry publications and refer to websites, like Hospitality News Middle East, for effective and timely insights. In addition, following reputable industry influencers on social media platforms can also provide valuable insights. Furthermore, I attend hospitality conferences, webinars and workshops to network with industry professionals and gain first-hand knowledge of emerging trends.

Finally, I continuously engage with professional development through online courses and certification. This keeps me informed about the latest best practices and innovations in the hospitality sector.

How would you describe the restaurant sector in the region, particularly in Abu Dhabi?

Abu Dhabi’s hospitality sector is marked by a diverse array of high-quality hotels, restaurants and entertainment, offering luxurious resorts and world-class dining. Furthermore, Abu Dhabi provides a unique and enriching hospitality experience for visitors. The industry continues to grow and innovate, positioning the city as a premier global destination for leisure and business travelers.

Do you have any new projects in the pipeline?

Yes, several new projects in the pipeline are currently being developed and will be rolled out soon. Carefully planned and executed, these projects target organizational needs and challenges, emphasizing precision to ensure their successful implementation within our organization.
