Michelin starred chef Gordon Ramsay has officially opened the Gordon Ramsay Academy in Riyadh, marking the culinary school’s first international expansion outside the United Kingdom.
Launched in partnership with Al Khaleej Training & Education, the academy is located at Narjis View Mall in Riyadh’s Narjis district. It aims to elevate culinary education in Saudi Arabia by offering world class training to both home cooks and aspiring professional chefs.
Spanning more than 1,000 square meters, the facility features three practical kitchens, a demonstration kitchen, dedicated dining and lounge areas and specialised preparation spaces. Initially, the academy will offer around 20 weekly classes, including courses in beef wellington, sushi making and baking.
In addition, students can pursue internationally recognised qualifications, including the Essential Cookery Skills certificate and the Professional Cookery Diploma. The academy is accredited by Saudi Arabia’s Technical Vocational Training Corporation and the Culinary Arts Commission.
Beyond culinary training, students will also gain knowledge in kitchen management, hospitality operations and marketing, equipping them with both practical and business skills.
Furthermore, the academy plans to introduce internship and job placement programmes in partnership with leading industry stakeholders. These initiatives will create pathways for aspiring chefs to enter the global hospitality industry while supporting the development of Saudi Arabia’s next generation of culinary talent.
The opening aligns closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of economic diversification, workforce development and cultural exchange. As a result, industry experts believe the academy could help transform the Kingdom’s culinary landscape and position Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for hospitality education.
