Maristo Hospitality signs master franchise agreement with German Doner Kebab

Maristo Hospitality has taken over the operations of German Doner Kebab (GDK), with plans to expand in the UAE and the Middle East. The official agreement was signed in December 2022 in the presence of Imran Sayeed, group CEO of GDK International, and Maristo Hospitality’s CEO, Gaurav Arora.

Maristo Hospitality will lead the operations of the fast-casual restaurant chain while expanding to 25 locations, with new outlets set to launch in Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the coming years.

GDK uses an open-kitchen concept in all of its restaurants and prides itself on an uncompromising focus on quality, from premium lean meat imported from Germany to the unique signature sauces made daily in-store. Maristo Hospitality will also shift the sourcing of key ingredients, such as the Turkish-style bread and fresh vegetables, from suppliers in Dubai to ensure its distinguished flavor and prized quality is preserved.

“German Doner Kebab is known for having an innovative approach to traditional kebab and has become one of the fastest-growing casual dining brands since its inception in 1989. We’re very excited to bring such a loved and well-known brand into our operational arm and maintain its high-quality food, superior dining experience and top-notch service. This new venture fits our goal of promoting various brands’ development sustainably. With our substantial experience and triumph with other F&B concepts, such as Popeye’s, Ralph’s Kitchen and Sisi’s Eatery, we will continue German Doner Kebab’s legacy and further drive its success in the region,” said Gaurav Arora, CEO of Maristo Hospitality.

From its European origins, GDK has enjoyed rapid, international expansion and success, and Maristo Hospitality looks forward to elevating the experience through the partnership.
