Greenhouse Foodstuff Trading LLC, which continues to champion fine food culture through events, education and global culinary partnerships, recently hosted the third chapter of the UAE Cheese Guild in a celebration of cheese excellence.

The event was held at the residence of the French Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Nicolas Niemtchinow, in Abu Dhabi. Notably, the gathering highlighted the guild’s commitment to promoting artisanal cheese through cultural exchange, international collaboration and culinary education.

Under the leadership of Daniel Chidiac, president of the UAE Cheese Guild, the evening brought together diplomats, chefs and artisans from across the region. Indeed, the gathering served as a platform for honoring global cheese-making traditions and strengthening ties within the international culinary community.

The highlight of the evening was an exquisite selection of cheeses from France, Italy, Spain, Holland and the United States. Guests enjoyed a curated tasting experience that showcased the diversity, richness, and craftsmanship of the world’s finest cheese varieties. Additionally, the event’s prestige was enhanced by the attendance of Roland Barthelemy, provost of the International Cheese Guild. As a globally respected cheese authority, Barthelemy’s presence underscored the Guild’s international recognition and unwavering pursuit of excellence. Moreover, he reinforced the importance of cheese education, innovation and cross-cultural appreciation within the global gastronomic community.

In a ceremonial moment steeped in tradition, the UAE Cheese Guild enthroned new members during the evening. This ritual symbolized their dedication to preserving and promoting artisanal cheese culture throughout the UAE and the wider Middle East.

In addition, H.E. Niemtchinow was honored as the official protector of the guild during the ceremony. This recognition acknowledged his steadfast support of culinary diplomacy, heritage and the continued growth of cheese culture in the UAE.
