With over three decades of hospitality experience, Peter Katusak-Huzsvar has held pivotal roles in renowned hotels across the world. As GM of Ritz-Carlton Jeddah, he talks about Jeddah’s hospitality scene and what’s planned at the luxury property. 

What attracted you to the role of general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah?

I am honored to have joined as the general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah. Moreover, the unique blend of tradition, elegance and luxury that The Ritz-Carlton brand embodies drew me to this role and property. Furthermore, being part of a team dedicated to creating memorable moments for guests in Jeddah is inspiring and fulfilling. This opportunity aligns perfectly with my passion for hospitality excellence. In addition, I am excited to contribute to the continued success and reputation of this iconic property.

What can you tell us about your leadership style?

In my role as general manager, I adhere to a servant leadership approach that emphasizes empathy, humility and dedication. Additionally, I believe in creating a supportive and inclusive work environment. Consequently, every individual feels valued, respected and motivated to contribute their best. Moreover, I lead with integrity, transparency and a focus on continuous learning and improvement. My aim is to promote a culture of excellence, innovation and genuine care for both guests and colleagues.

What are your aspirations for The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah?

My focus is to strengthen the property’s positioning as a beacon of luxury hospitality excellence. Additionally, not only in the city of Jeddah but in KSA and beyond. My vision is to ensure every guest experiences The Ritz-Carlton Jeddah’s renowned luxury, elegance and personalized service upon arrival. To achieve this, I plan to invest in the professional development of our team. Moreover, I plan to implement innovative guest experiences and strengthen our relationships with the local community and key stakeholders. By focusing on attention to detail, operational excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement, I aim to exceed guest expectations. Consequently, I aim to solidify The Ritz-Carlton, Jeddah’s reputation as a world-class luxury hotel.

Rita Ghantous is a hospitality aficionado and a passionate writer with over 9 years’ experience in journalism and 5 years experience in the hospitality sector.
