Ganter began his career at La Cour d’Alsace in Obernai, France, then worked at La Tour d’Argent before joining Yannick Alleno’s team.
The talented French chef has been leading the kitchen at Centrale since 2013, and despite the challenging situation in Lebanon, he has decided to stay and continue offering gastronomic cuisine at Beirut’s iconic restaurant.
“This award means the world to Centrale, which has maintained an impeccable standard despite the tough times being faced in Lebanon. We have always sourced the best quality products and maintained a service/quality balance that is attractive to our clientele. This award is not only a recognition of the culinary excellence of Centrale restaurant but also of its service and bar. We are among a few bar-restaurant concepts that are still operating after 20 years,” said Ganter.
He added: “I stayed in Lebanon despite the difficulties because I have faith in Centrale. I promised the general director that I would turn it into one of the finest restaurants in Lebanon: a place recognized for its personality, ambience, and delicious food. I am very lucky to be able to continue doing what I enjoy. My family loves Lebanon and is as attached to it as much as I am. I wish Centrale and the Lebanese people nothing but the very best, always.”
