With a distinguished hospitality career, Fadi Harb, GM of Riviera Rayhaan by Rotana, is committed to offering unparalleled guest experiences. In this exclusive interview, he offers a behind-the-scenes look at the hotel’s operations.

What can you tell us about how your hospitality journey and how you were appointed GM of the Rayhaan property in Doha?

With a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences, my journey in the hospitality industry began with Marriott Hotels & Resorts. Later, in 2009, I joined Rotana Hotels, where I started in the dynamic realm of F&B. Navigating my way through various managerial roles, I leveraged firsthand professional development through learning and experience. This allowed me to gain profound insights into all aspects of the industry.

Additionally, I oversaw pre-opening operations for Rotana Hotels’ brands in Sudan, Riyadh, Iraq and Jeddah. I ensured successful launches and seamless transitions into full operation. Consequently, I have gained over two decades of experience in hospitality across the Middle East, Africa and the Gulf region.

Moreover, I can honestly say that this journey, with all its diverse challenges and achievements, has positively impacted me. Through it, I have gained valuable insights into cultural dynamics and business intricacies. This has empowered me to excel in diverse environments and acquire a strong reputation for service excellence.

In my new role in Qatar, I’m eager to work with the team to establish new benchmarks for excellence and innovation. By leveraging my extensive experience, I aim to contribute to the continued success and growth of our operations in this exciting new market.

In your opinion, what sets Doha apart from other areas?

Doha’s uniqueness lies in its cultural richness, as it offers visitors a unique blend of traditional Qatari hospitality and diverse influences from around the world. Additionally, guests can explore a variety of cuisines and the nation’s cultural experiences through museums, markets, natural beauty and more.

Moreover, Qatar’s hosting of world-class events, from the FIFA World Cup 2022 to international conferences, has positioned the destination as a global tourism, sporting, and business hub. This has initiated remarkable growth in the hospitality sector, driving significant development.

As a result, Qatar has expanded its high-end hotels and resort offerings, featuring cutting-edge facilities with breathtaking views. These developments offer guests visiting for both business and leisure unforgettable stays immersed in luxury and comfort.

Furthermore, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, Doha’s hospitality sector is committed to positioning itself as a leading regional destination. By focusing on sustainability and fostering cultural exchange, the sector aims to achieve this ambitious goal.
