New chief executive officer appointed at DUR

Dur Hospitality announced the approval of its Board of Directors to appoint Sultan bin Bader Al-Otaibi as CEO. He had served for 19 years in various managerial and operational capacities. He will commence with his position as of July 1.

Al-Otaibi holds a master degree in Hotel Management from the Emirates Academy for International Hospitality, accredited by Lausanne University. He also earned a bachelor degree in Accounting from King Saud University. He also took various certified courses in Hotel and Hospitality from Cornell Hotel, USA.

Prior to his role at Dur Hospitality, he ran major hotel projects and investments in the company. He is a member of the Hotels Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, also he’s a board member of Makarim AlMa’arifa Hospitality Co. and the Saudi Hotel Services Co.

Additionally, Al-Otaibi was a member of the Joint Committee on Housing in the Saudi Commission for Tourism & National Heritage, which has implemented the preparation of the Saudi hotel industry’s regulations and requirements.
