As general manager of the magnificent Marriott Marquis Dubai Creek, Fredrik Reinisch has little time to relax. Yet, we managed to catch a few minutes with him to learn how he stays engaged, guest focused and dedicated to delivering meaningful, memorable hospitality experiences.
You describe yourself as passionate about hospitality. How does that passion shine through in your current role?
For me, hospitality is much more than a career; it is truly a heartfelt and lifelong calling. Because of this passion, I remain hands-on in every hotel aspect, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable and exceptional experience. What truly sets me apart from a conventional general manager is my commitment to high standards and strong personal connections. Moreover, I focus on empowering my team and fostering a guest-first culture that consistently exceeds expectations and delights. As a newly operational hotel, what major challenges have you faced?
One of the positive challenges we encountered was positioning Marriott Marquis Dubai as a premier destination in this vibrant area. Moreover, with Jewel of the Creek’s development, we needed to establish our identity in Dubai’s intensely competitive hospitality landscape. However, the real achievement has been our team’s strength, collaborating effectively and tackling every challenge with resilience and shared commitment. Consequently, we’ve not only overcome early obstacles but created a dynamic space where both guests and team members genuinely thrive. Since being based in Dubai, I’ve witnessed many districts evolve into “must-see” destinations admired by global travelers and residents alike. Therefore, I’m confident that Jewel of the Creek will soon become Dubai’s next landmark destination, capturing global attention with distinction. The entire team and I are incredibly proud and excited to contribute to this remarkable project’s growth and success.

Therefore, we aim to deliver exceptional service, distinctive dining options, and immersive activities that enhance both leisure and business experiences. As the surrounding area continues to grow, our role will expand accordingly, shaping regional hospitality with innovation and consistency. Moreover, we will enhance our F&B offerings, ensuring our culinary concepts remain exciting, relevant, and tailored to evolving guest preferences. Ultimately, as the destination transforms, we will adapt and contribute to making Jewel of the Creek a vibrant cultural hub.
