As Middle Eastern bar culture evolves, Margarita Sader CEO of MSbartrends uncorks mindful drinking, innovation, female leadership and the creative forces reshaping one of the world’s most dynamic scenes.
How is bar culture evolving across the Middle East today?
Bar culture in the Middle East is evolving at an incredible pace. There is a strong focus on hospitality, storytelling and high-quality experiences. Thus, what I find most exciting is how the region is developing its own identity. It has a very refined approach to service. Moreover, there is also a growing sense of community within the industry and a clear ambition to innovate. Consequently, this is positioning the region as one of the most dynamic bar scenes globally.
What is your favorite alcohol trend?
One of my favorite trends is the shift toward more mindful drinking. In this approach, quality and intention matter more than quantity. I love seeing how low-ABV and alcohol-free options are developed with the same level of creativity and care as classic cocktails. As a result, the bar experience is becoming more inclusive.
I am also very inspired by how flavor profiles are evolving toward less sweet, more balanced expressions. Additionally, I am inspired by blending with different disciplines such as art, fashion, music or perfumery. These bring new ways of understanding the cocktail experience.
What are your plans for the future?
My focus for the future is to continue learning and growing both personally and professionally. In particular, I am very excited to continue developing Women in Hospitality, a project now celebrating five years. Moreover, I will continue supporting visibility and female leadership within the industry. I am also involved in new Paradiso openings internationally.
At the same time, I am working towards creating more conscious experiences. In these experiences, sustainability, collaboration and positive impact within the industry are part of the journey. Additionally, I continue creating new designs through my atelier MSbartrends. This allows me to explore creativity from a different perspective.
