Dubai hosted the second edition of the region’s largest international cheese festival

Sopexa hosted its second edition of ‘Cheese Fest’, the region’s largest international cheese

Festival on February 22. The event took place at Barasti, an F&B venue within Le Meridien Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, and welcomed 4,000 guests.

Twelve different brands participated in the show. These included cheeses from the US Dairy Export Council (USDEC), a range of European cheeses brought to Dubai by CNIEL including Lactalis, Savencia, Lune de Miel, Perrier, Giffard, Vache qui Rit, Kiri, and a range of Irish cheeses showcased by Bord Bia.

Thirteen stations showcased cheese-based recipes from all over the world, including countries from Italy, Arabic, Greece, India, Switzerland and South America. A Cheese Bar allowed visitors to create their own platter and discover a range of sweet treats such as mascarpone gelato and ricotta pancakes.

Renowned French cheese monger, Ludovic Bisot, along with several other chefs from around the world, spoke about the various cheeses on show. 

Visitors participated in activities including cheese pairing with grapes and even espresso. There were also Irish dance classes, mocktail demonstrations and tastings, as well as blind cheese tasting.
