In today’s hospitality landscape, culinary institutions are increasingly expected to play a role that goes beyond technical training and product expertise. Across the Middle East, chefs and hospitality brands are becoming active contributors to their communities — using gastronomy as a tool for connection, generosity and support.
This is the approach embraced by L’École Valrhona Dubai, which continues to strengthen its regional presence through initiatives rooted in craftsmanship, solidarity and human connection. Beyond pastry and technical excellence, the school remains committed to supporting chefs, hospitality teams and local communities while staying aligned with Valrhona’s long-standing values of responsibility and knowledge transmission.
Bringing people together during Ramadan
During Ramadan, a period centered around sharing and togetherness, L’École Valrhona Dubai partnered with hospitality brands and chefs across the UAE to support meaningful local initiatives.
Working alongside chef Kelvin Cheung at Jun’s, the teams prepared and distributed 800 Valrhona Macaé 62 percent chocolate brownies for Iftar gatherings. Each dessert was finished with a Valrhona Gianduja truffle and white chocolate icing, combining technical craftsmanship with a gesture of generosity during a deeply communal moment.
At Mandarin Oriental Emirates Palace, the school also contributed to Ramadan initiatives dedicated to hospitality employees, recognizing the efforts of teams working through one of the busiest periods of the year.
A tribute to frontline workers during Eid
For Eid, L’École Valrhona Dubai created chocolate entremets dedicated to frontline workers, reinforcing the emotional impact gastronomy can have beyond the dining table.
Led by executive pastry chef Brice Konan-Ferrand and his team, the initiative aimed to offer a moment of recognition and comfort to individuals carrying significant daily responsibilities. More than a pastry creation, the project highlighted food’s ability to create connection, appreciation and solidarity.
Extending support to families
L’École Valrhona Dubai also participated in the “Kindness Basket” initiative, contributing to the preparation and distribution of food baskets for 1,000 families across Dubai.
Alongside Valrhona chocolate and Pariani almonds, the initiative reflected a broader vision of gastronomy — one where culinary excellence and social impact can coexist. By contributing both ingredients and expertise, the school helped transform a simple gesture into meaningful community support.
Supporting chefs beyond technical training
While community engagement remains an important part of its identity, L’École Valrhona Dubai continues to focus on its core mission: supporting chefs and hospitality professionals through training, collaboration and ongoing dialogue.
At a time when hospitality teams are navigating increasing operational pressure and evolving industry expectations, maintaining spaces dedicated to creativity, learning and exchange has become more important than ever.
Hospitality with purpose
Through its partnerships, chef collaborations and outreach initiatives, L’École Valrhona Dubai continues to reinforce a vision of hospitality that extends beyond the kitchen.
At a time when the industry is increasingly shaped by people, purpose and connection, initiatives like these serve as a reminder that gastronomy can do more than create memorable experiences. It can also foster solidarity, recognition and meaningful human impact.
