Visionary chef Tarek Alameddine, who is currently at the helm of Beihouse and BUCO, has launched MUUN in Beirut’s Saifi district. The new restaurant brings a contemporary take on Japanese dining and is rooted in simplicity, craftsmanship and respect for exceptional ingredients.

Inspired by Japan’s culinary traditions, Alameddine has created a menu that celebrates precision and flavour. Guests can enjoy made to order hand rolls, premium nigiri selections, including Torched Otoro and Wagyu, as well as a variety of sharing plates. Moreover, the menu features crudos, salads, curries and ramen, offering a balance of light and comforting dishes.

In an exclusive statement, chef Tarek said: “Before it became a restaurant, MUUN was a feeling. A sense of calm. A respect for craftsmanship. An appreciation for the beauty of things stripped back to their essence.”

The restaurant’s design reflects the same philosophy found in its cuisine. Warm lighting, tactile materials and sculptural elements create a calm and refined atmosphere. In addition, an open kitchen allows guests to witness the rhythm and precision behind every dish.

Located in the heart of Saifi, MUUN aims to offer more than a dining experience. Instead, it seeks to create a space where cuisine and design come together through intention, transparency and understated elegance.
