Marriott International has partnered with Riyadh-based Blacksand to develop 10 hotels across Saudi Arabia, adding more than 1,300 rooms over the next four years.
The multi-brand agreement supports the kingdom’s Vision 2030 by expanding hospitality offerings and creating over 6,000 jobs. It also strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position as one of the world’s fastest-growing tourism destinations. Moreover, the partnership supports the country’s ambitious urban development plans.
Diverse portfolio of global brands
The new developments will span Marriott International’s luxury, premium, select and extended-stay brands, including St. Regis, Marriott Hotels, Autograph Collection, Moxy, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy. Furthermore, the hotels will provide a wide range of accommodation options for leisure travelers, business guests, families and long-stay visitors. Each property will combine Marriott International’s globally recognized service standards with locally inspired architecture, design and guest experiences, creating destinations that reflect the unique identity of their locations.
Expanding Saudi Arabia’s hospitality landscape
The projects are currently in the design and early construction stages, with phased openings planned through 2030 across multiple Saudi cities, beginning in Riyadh. Once completed, the portfolio will increase accommodation capacity. The developments are expected to enhance Saudi Arabia’s hospitality infrastructure and contribute to the country’s goal of welcoming millions of domestic and international visitors in the coming years.
Creating jobs and supporting Vision 2030
Beyond strengthening Marriott International’s presence in Saudi Arabia, the agreement is expected to create more than 6,000 full-time jobs, with a strong emphasis on local employment and talent development.
The partnership reflects Marriott International’s long-term confidence in the Saudi market. Through strategic collaborations and continued investment, the company aims to play an active role in shaping the future of hospitality across Saudi Arabia.
