Rotana expands into Africa and Iraq with six new hotel openings

Centro Baghdad Green Zone - Baghdad, Iraq 2

Rotana has announced its latest international expansion plan with the addition of six new properties across Africa and Iraq. Moreover, the development will see the company enter new markets in Ghana, Kenya, Benin and Iraq. Consequently, this aligns with its strategy to grow in underserved, high-potential destinations through local partnerships.

Furthermore, Rotana will open a flagship full-service hotel in Accra’s diplomatic district, along with two new properties in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area. Additionally, the company will debut in Benin’s capital, Cotonou, and expand further into Iraq with a new hotel in central Baghdad.

This expansion reflects Rotana’s commitment to delivering world-class hospitality experiences while reinforcing its asset-light, partner-driven growth model. By targeting strategic locations in key emerging markets, the group aims to tap into growing demand for quality accommodations across Africa and the Middle East.

Eddy Tannous, chief operating officer at Rotana, said: “These new developments represent an exciting milestone for Rotana as we grow our footprint across dynamic, fast-growing regions. We remain focused on delivering exceptional value through strong local partnerships and personalized guest experiences.”

This move marks a significant step in Rotana’s global growth journey, reinforcing its asset-light, partner-driven model while extending its hospitality footprint into key emerging regions.
