Oman’s tourism and hospitality sector continued its upward trajectory at the end of November 2025, supported by rising domestic and international visitor numbers, according to official data.
Figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information show that guest stays at 3- to 5-star hotels increased by 10.9 percent year-on-year to 2.14 million, up from 1.93 million during the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, domestic tourism remained resilient, with Omani guest numbers rising 7 percent to 791,286. Moreover, visitors from GCC countries also increased by 7.4 percent to 195,825, while arrivals from other Arab markets declined slightly by 1.6 percent.
Additionally, international demand strengthened across several regions. Significantly, European arrivals grew 23 percent, while visitors from the Americas rose nearly 30 percent. Asia and Africa also posted gains, while there was strong growth from Oceania. Reflecting this momentum, hotel revenues climbed 21.4 percent to RO 257.9 million, while average occupancy rates improved to reach 55.4 percent, underscoring the sector’s continued recovery and expansion.
In a previous statement, Salim M. Almahruqi, minister of heritage and tourism of the Sultanate of Oman, praised the country’s advantages. He stated: “Oman stands out in the region for its diverse landscapes, heritage and culture.”
