Egypt is intensifying tourism expansion efforts while targeting 30 million annual visitors through infrastructure growth, investment and international partnerships nationwide, following high-level discussions with the WTTC in Cairo.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s target during high level discussions in Cairo with leaders from the World Travel & Tourism Council. The meeting highlighted Egypt’s accelerating tourism momentum, with discussions centered around investment opportunities, infrastructure development and strengthening the country’s global tourism competitiveness despite ongoing regional geopolitical tensions.
Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, chairman of the WTTC, emphasized that Egypt continues demonstrating strong tourism resilience and international investment attractiveness. He further stressed that Egypt “remains a preferred destination that everyone looks forward to visiting,” highlighting strong global confidence in Egypt’s tourism sector. In addition, Gloria Guevara, president and CEO of the WTTC, highlighted the importance of coordinated leadership supporting sustainable tourism recovery worldwide. “The focus now is accelerating recovery while ensuring sustainable long-term growth through continued collaboration, investment and clear leadership,” Guevara explained.
Egypt continues accelerating tourism infrastructure projects while strengthening destination development, international connectivity and long term tourism investment opportunities. However, maintaining stability, security and safety remains essential for sustaining tourism growth and attracting international visitors.
