HOBART wins Horecava 2019 innovation award

HOBART received the Dutch innovation award Horecava 2019 in the categories Equipment and Service for its TOP-DRY drying technology installed in the new undercounter dishwashers. The new drying technology by the world market leader for commercial warewashing stood its ground against more than 180 other innovations, which also competed for the coveted prize. Each year, the Horecava award is presented at the Amsterdam trade show of the same name, which is the largest trade show of the catering industry in the Netherlands.

Rob Batteljée, Country Manager Equipment Sales of HOBART Netherlands, said, “Innovation and quality are the central factors of success for our company. Accordingly, we are very happy and honored to receive this prize. It is a special incentive for us to continue on our chosen path.”

No drying/polishing required

The HOBART TOP-DRY drying technology is unique in the commercial sector and significantly eases the workload of the dishwashing staff, in particular during peak hours. Things are often hectic in professional kitchens and in service. Plates and glasses must be quickly washed to sparkling perfection so that they can be used again immediately. However, many commercial dishwashers require subsequent manual drying and polishing. This increases stress, ties up workers and ultimately costs money. But not with TOP-DRY drying; once the washing process is complete, the humid air is converted using a hydro-thermal energy storage system and re-introduced into the wash chamber as hot drying air. This prevents moisture from depositing on the wash ware. Another benefit is the improved room climate, as this generates less humidity.
