SIAL Paris to kick off its innovation-centric edition for 2022

SIAL Paris, the global agri-food trade event with 7,000 exhibitors and 400,000 exhibited products will hold its innovation-centric edition from the 15th to the 19th of October 2022 at Paris Nord Villepinte.

The trade event’s theme: “owning change”, addresses the latest trends, customers’ expectations, and initiatives that will shape tomorrow’s food industry.

In a statement, Audrey Ashworth, newly appointed director of Sial Paris, stated, “Own the Change theme reminds us that we are all active participants in the change that is underway and that we must grasp the environmental, ethical, digital, and demographic challenges facing the planet. It is up to us to rise to the challenges of food security and changes in consumption habits. It also means scouting out new talent and nurturing the “young shoots” who are eager to actively contribute to tomorrow’s ecosystem.

She continued, “At SIAL Paris, we strive to be more than just a trade fair. I hope to increase the extent and diversity of attendees, and allow them to network. As well as provide them with content and services that will allow them to develop themselves and use the supplied pertinent tools all year long. Also, offer guidance and recommendations, increase the event’s simplicity and maintain the conviviality that characterizes SIAL Paris.

This year’s highlights are:

SIAL Innovation, showcasing the best of the world’s food innovation. For two decades, the SIAL Innovation Grand Prizes have recognized outstanding new products showcasing them in a dedicated area for optimal visitor visibility. The gallery of new products then travels to other major SIAL network events such as Canada, China, India, Jakarta, the Middle East, and the United States. This year’s selection process is done by a panel of independent experts led by ProteinesXTC, a firm specializing in the strategy, innovation, and communication of agri-food companies, who will meet from March to August 2022 to examine the entries. The SIAL Innovation Grand Jury composed of industry professionals, journalists, and SIAL representatives will then review the finalists and chose the most innovative products in each category. The winners of the SIAL Innovation bronze, silver, and gold grand prizes, will be revealed during an awards ceremony at the trade fair.

SIAL Start-Up, a brand-new area that will present a fine selection of startups in partnership with Start-up Sesame and FoodTech. The visitors will discover the most innovative young companies.
