As unique as her voice, the world-renowned Indian singer and actor, Asha Bhosle, is the driving force behind an award-winning culinary destination that transcends cultures and crosses continents. In just 15 years, the global Indian restaurant chain has become a firm favorite of regional and international diners with 13 locations throughout the Gulf region and Europe. To commemorate its 15th birthday, the Kuwaiti branch introduced not one, but four new menus. The ceremony took place at Asha’s in Kuwait, which was the first branch to open in the Middle East attended by media figures, bloggers and foodies.

The story behind the name, stems from the famous singer Asha Bhosle, who comes from a family known for its flair for the arts in India, as well as the singer’s personal passion for cooking. In marrying both, Bhosle turned to a new concept in the world of restaurants and contemporary Indian food. Her international restaurants serve delicious Indian cuisine in the original style with modern touches and a musical ambiance that reflects her love for India.

Commenting, Jim Dunn, vice president, Asian and Family Foods, Alshaya Group said, “The first menu is called Delhi to Punjab. Chefs inspired the first menu from a trip to India while exploring cities and tastes to create authentic Indian dishes.”
