Chateau Ksara’s The Chardonnay Cuvée Du Pape 2016 was awarded a silver medal, among more than 600 competing chardonnays from all over the world at the renowned Chardonnay Du Monde competition, held in Ecully, France just outside of Lyon.

“This is a great recognition for the Chardonnay Cuvée Du Pape 2016 to be awarded for the second consecutive year by a panel of international wine experts. We have been keen on producing a distinct chardonnay that truly stands out,” said winemaker James Page.

Using just one grape variety that is grown at over 1,200 meters, Chateau Ksara’s famous chardonnay wine is fermented and matured in new French oak for at least eight months, giving a subtle, almost creamy, vanilla topping to the grape aroma and an extra dimension of delicate spiciness to the taste.

“A star in its own right, the Chardonnay Cuvée Du Pape 2016 has managed to touch international wine professionals with its excellence. This is the perfect example of the quality and versatility of Chateau Ksara’s wines and their impact all over the world,”added Elie Maamari, Chateau Ksara export manager.

Founded by the Jesuit fathers in 1857, the estate is well known for its elaborate Roman caves that run 2km deep, creating the ideal environment to store and age many of Ksara’s notable wines. Chateau Ksara has become a distinguished icon and a winemaker with a long and history spanning over 160 remarkable years.
