Garo Salkhanian has over 45 years of experience in leading Saltek, an expert in bakery equipment.  As the company’s chairman and CEO, he tells us more about the key to success.

What can you tell us about Saltek?
As a worldwide leader and trendsetter in the production of fully automated pita bread lines since 1978, Saltek has established itself as an internationally renowned company. With around 4,500 projects in more than 94 countries, Saltek’s name has become equivalent to high quality and performance.

What is your best-selling product and why?
Our most popular innovations include the pita and flatbread lines, which are customized to meet customers’ needs, such as tortilla, tannour, chapati and lavash.
As traders, we represent leading companies for all kinds of European bread and pastries.

Have you released any new products recently?
We have launched the lavash production line, the luxury oven and the luxury igloo oven for all types of delicious items, such as manakish, pizza, lahmajoun and other oriental pies.

Rita Ghantous is a hospitality aficionado and a passionate writer with over 9 years’ experience in journalism and 5 years experience in the hospitality sector. Her passion for the performance arts and writing, started early. At 10 years old she was praised for her solo performance of the Beatles song “All My Love” accompanied by a guitarist, and was approached by a French talent scout during her school play. Her love for the industry and journalism led her to Hospitality Services - the organizers of the HORECA trade show in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan, as well as Salon Du Chocolat, Beirut Cooking Festival, Whisky Live and other regional shows. She is currently the Publications Executive of Hospitality News Middle East, Taste & Flavors and Lebanon Traveler. It is with ultimate devotion for her magazines that she demonstrates her hospitality savoir-faire.
