MONIN CUP returns to KSA

MONIN CUP returns to KSA

Bidfood KSA and Georges MONIN SAS France will be hosting the second edition of the Saudi Monin Cup,  an international competition for professional beverage specialists.

The Monin Cup challenges participants to demonstrate their creative skills while using MONIN products to craft signature mocktails.

Held in collaboration with the Saudi Arabian Chef Association, the Saudi Monin Cup invites all mixologists and beverage specialists from across the kingdom to apply online at bidfoodme.com. Up for grabs is the Monin Champion title as well as a cash prize of up to 8,000 SAR. Applicants must be under 35 years old and have professional experience as a beverage mixologist, bartender, barista or be a student at a culinary center.

As part of the submission, applicants must send in one recipe, either a cold or a hot drink, and the same recipe must be used in the regional finals and national finals if they are selected. A local panel of judges will evaluate creations based on presentation, efficiency, execution, appearance, aroma, taste and respect for the theme. All submissions will be evaluated to select the top semi-finalists for each region: Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar. The results will then be announced during the fourth week of September.

The semi-finalists will compete in regional semi-finals held at the Bidfood culinary studios of each region (October 2 – Jeddah, October 3 – Khobar; October 5 – Riyadh)

The theme of the 2022 edition is “Sharing Memorable Moments.” The challenge for each competitor will be to conceive and present a mocktail that embodies the spirit of the theme, sharing not only a drink but also a true moment of togetherness.

The three regional champions will then compete at the Saudi Monin Cup final, which will be held on October 9, 2022, in Riyadh.
