Mandarin Oriental, Doha appoints Thomas Kinsperger as its GM

Thomas Kinsperger has been appointed general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Doha, succeeding  Martin Schnider.

With over two decades of international hospitality experience across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, Kinsperger, who initially joined Mandarin Oriental, Doha in 2019 as its hotel manager, brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. He first joined the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 2008 at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. In 2011, he was appointed as the food and beverage manager at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. In 2012, he assumed the role of director of food and beverage at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, then went on to become the project director of The Residences in Bangkok.
Commenting on his promotion, Kinsperger stated: “I am delighted to continue delivering the service excellence and standards that our guests at Mandarin Oriental, Doha have come to expect. I look forward to working with our passionate colleagues to delight and inspire our guests at every opportunity. Building on our strong foundation, we will further strengthen our position as a leader in hospitality and a distinctive destination in the cultural heart of Doha.”
Kinsperger is an advocate of sustainability. Under his leadership the hotel gained its third consecutive Green Key certification and has eliminated single-use plastics.
