SLS Dubai appoints Cláudio Cardoso as culinary director

Portuguese celebrity chef Cláudio Cardoso has been appointed as culinary director at the SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences.

Chef Cardoso will be bringing with him a wealth of global experience from some of the world’s best fine-dining establishments, as well as a bold and creative approach to food, which is showcased in his innovative dishes.

Born in South Africa and raised in Portugal, Cardoso’s first foray with food was the blend of South African and Portuguese cuisines and flavors in his family home. At the age of 15, he pursued his formal culinary education in Portugal, which led to multiple work opportunities at several five-star restaurants in Peru, Milan, South Africa, London and finally Dubai. His portfolio includes the Armani Hotel in Dubai, The Ritz-Carlton in Lisbon, London’s SUSHISAMBA, where he was the group executive chef, and the Michelin-starred restaurant Midori at The Ritz-Carlton, where he held the post of executive chef.
