IHG debuts its first urban luxury resort and spa in Riyadh

IHG Hotels & Resorts expands its KSA resort portfolio with the inclusion of InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh Resort & Spa.

Following a SAR 45 million refurbishment, it has become Riyadh’s inaugural InterContinental Resort. Notably, Kristina Zanic Consultants undertook the transformation of rooms, suites, villas, dining areas, and public spaces. This renovation achieves a vibrant resort atmosphere, seamlessly merging Arabian heritage and contemporary design with warm tones, natural materials, and organic patterns.

Located at the northern gate of Riyadh, the resort comprises 162 guest rooms, suites and villas with private outdoor swimming pools, six dining venues and exclusive Club InterContinental privileges and lounge access. Furthermore, an extensive range of recreational facilities are available, including indoor and outdoor pools, two padel courts, a grand ballroom, eight meeting rooms and outdoor spaces.

“Durrat al Riyadh’s heritage as a place to escape to has been reimagined with an array of ways to unwind, celebrate and retreat. We look forward to welcoming our guests from both near and far to experience the resort and our service. InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh Resort & Spa will set the tone for unbounded adventure in the area, marrying deep knowledge of the destination with an understanding of what luxury means to the discerning modern-day traveler,” stated Marc Reissinger, the resort’s GM.

InterContinental Durrat Al Riyadh Resort & Spa offers a selection of unique culinary experiences:

  • The Arabian Bistro (Les Palmiers) boasts innovative, traditional and international flavors crafted with intricacy.
  • Café Lagoon is the perfect place to enjoy a shisha, watch sports on multiple screens or enjoy a game of pool.
  • Coco’s Bar is a bar and restaurant that overlooks the infinity pool and the park.
  • Oasis is a concept cafe with a menu featuring delicious sandwiches, salads, desserts and juices for dining and takeaway.

Later this year, the resort will be introducing a fine-dining Asian restaurant as well as Fumé, a boutique cigar lounge.
