Radisson Blu Hotel, Beirut Verdun is plastic straw-free

“A move we are very proud of,” said Mohammad Yassine, general manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Beirut Verdun. Starting this April, the hotel became officially a plastic straw free hotel. They will no longer purchase or provide plastic straws and will only offer paper straws upon customer requests. “We believe we are the first or one of the very few to take this step in Lebanon,” added Yassine.

The hotel is utilizing various channels within the hotel and on social media to inform guests and the public of the dangerous effects and consequences plastic straws have on nature.

As part of Radisson Blu Hotel Group’s sustainable Think Planet initiative, Radisson Blu Hotels around the globe are participating in Earth Day 2018 and its attempt to fundamentally change people’s attitude and behavior towards plastic. These small steps are what help make the planet a little bit greener.
