The Nice Guy makes its way to Dubai

The h.wood Group and MKIA Hospitality have expanded their original reservations-only restaurant concept The Nice Guy to Dubai. Set to open its doors at Emirates Towers this fall, the concept will replicate the cozy vibe of West Hollywood’s flagship.

The Nice Guy Dubai joins the impressive collection as the brand’s second outpost of the Los Angeles-based restaurant and hospitality firm The h.wood Group, whose portfolio includes the forthcoming The Nice Guy Aspen, Delilah in Los Angeles and Wynn Las Vegas; Sant’olina at The Beverly Hilton; SLAB; Bootsy Bellows and Poppy; The Peppermint Club; SHOREbar Santa Monica; and the lush rooftop lounge Harriet’s at 1 Hotel West Hollywood and Toronto.

John Terzian, co-founder of The h.wood Group, said: “The emergence of The Nice Guy in the region has been nearly three years in the making. The original concept from LA was our first venture into a restaurant/lounge scene, and, having explored the F&B scene in Dubai, we strongly felt would be a breath of fresh air for our clientele in the Middle East. The Nice Guy marks the first step into organic construction for The h.wood Group, which is juxtaposed with fun and upscale lounge atmosphere ideal for the Dubai nightlife and dining scene.”

MKIA Hospitality co-founder Mohammad Irshaid, said: “We approached The h.wood Group team after spending years following their success and the power behind the name ‘The Nice Guy.’ Without sounding cliché, there was something about the name that instantly clicked, and I knew it was exactly the venue that Dubai needed. My main goal in working with the team in LA is to maintain the vision of The Nice Guy brand. Therefore, when it came to creating the Dubai venue, we have worked to keep the same layout and design elements from the establishment in LA.”

The Nice Guy Dubai’s restaurant and lounge aesthetic will remain true to the original decadent era of mob bars and restaurants, in addition to a romantic patio terrace. The reservations-only destination will offer classic Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner, signature menu items and crafted cocktails, with live entertainment and DJ sets at night.
